# Gomoku
Welcome to Gomoku! 🎮
You can consider this as normal Getting Started blog, where you begin your exciting journey in Gomoku.
So, what is Gomoku?
Gomoku (Caro) is a classic strategy board game where players win by placing five consecutive markers in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. This game of tactical thinking and spatial awareness has delighted players for generations.
In short, Gomoku is Eternals' Caro game version. Where you can play both good old-fashioned [classic Caro](/eternals_world/gomoku/game-modes.md#classic-mode) or [Eternal-version Caro](/eternals_world/gomoku/game-modes.md#eternians-mode)
Sounds great, how can I get started?
First, you must [login](/eternals_world/gomoku/how-to-join-gomoku.md) to Gomoku to start playing.
You can [login as a Guest](https://docs.eternals.game/eternals_world/pages/xy5HcIJ2cFeud0EruVJG#id-3.-guest-mode) to try out our gameplay. But we highly recommend login with wallet or social account to fully experience our features and save your progress.

Of course! Besides our first-timer tutorial, you can read briefly about our gameplay here.
Gomoku, at its core, is a Caro game where you can compete with other players. We recommend you to try out:
* [Quick Match](/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-quick-match.md) - [Classic Mode](/eternals_world/gomoku/game-modes.md#classic-mode). That is the closest to your familiar, old-fashioned Caro game
* If you have Eternals Pet NFT in your wallet? Please try out [Quick Match](/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-quick-match.md) - [Eternians Mode](/eternals_world/gomoku/game-modes.md#eternians-mode). Make sure to read [#what-to-prepare-for-eternians-mode](#what-to-prepare-for-eternians-mode "mention") before playing
After you have been proficient with the game, you can compete in [Ranking Match](/eternals_world/gomoku/ranking-match.md) and meet mightier enemies.
What to prepare for Eternians mode?
In order to compete in Eternians mode, you must have at least **1 Eternals Pet NFT** in your wallet, and have assigned your pet in [Battle Deck](/eternals_world/gomoku/battle-deck.md).
How to get more Ranking Points?
By completing your [Missions](/eternals_world/gomoku/missions.md), keeping [Daily Login](/eternals_world/gomoku/daily-login.md), and win more in [Ranking Match](/eternals_world/gomoku/ranking-match.md), of course. But besides that, [Mastery Points](/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-mastery-point.md) and [Win Streak](/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-win-streak.md) also have positive correlation with the Ranking Points you will receive after each match. So do your best to max out those numbers as well.
How can I win rewards from playing games?
You need to get[ more ranking points](https://docs.eternals.game/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-leaderboard#how-to-earn-ranking-points), which then allow you to be eligible for [Lucky Pool](https://docs.eternals.game/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-leaderboard#id-2.-lucky-pool) and [Top Ranking Pool](https://docs.eternals.game/eternals_world/gomoku/gomoku-leaderboard#id-1.-leaderbooard-with-top-ranking-pool) - of which rewards are tokens.
